Meh. This started off as cute and funny, but it went downhill as the characters became more involved. I did enjoy the glimpses of Ian and Sam's friendship since they were pretty cute together and I was reminded of the early relationship between Jim and Pam (from "The Office"). But even that was overshadowed by every other thought only being about how attractive the other looked and how much that turned them on. I got a little irritated with their (particularly Sam's) insistence that their friendship would be ruined by dating when they were both clearly unsatisfied with just being friends. Plus the ending was a bit too fluffy for my tastes, but to each his/her own.**SPOILERS**: Also, just as a warning to future readers (because I would have liked one before hand), there is a student who is "in love" with Sam and while she brushes him off pretty consistently, she later tries to use this student and his attention/infatuation to make a grown man jealous. GROSS!

Not So Nice Guy edition by RS Grey Contemporary Romance eBooks Reviews
Not So Nice guy was a very easy read - no real drama or angst to the storyline. I enjoyed the humour throughout the story.
Ian and Sam are besties that spend all their free time together. They are attracted to each other, but hadn't yet worked up the courage to act on their feelings and change the dynamics of the relationship.
I've loved some of the authors previous books and I did enjoy reading Not So Nice Guy, but I didn't love it. Sam and Ian's story and their chemistry together just didn't really grab me on this occasion.
So this book was actually really funny and at times (especially after Ian used the metaphor of a race and not knowing when it began but being sure he wanted to pursue Sam onwards) incredibly sweet. The author really did make the guy totally desirable to every woman reading this book. I found on more than one occasion I was laughing out loud (quietly of course) at the absurdity that was Sam and the sweet way Ian dealt with her quirks.
I do however have one gripe... there were a couple of times where the plot just took awkward turns and it's as if the author was just going off the cuff and not really concerned with how a scene fitted in with the tone of the rest of the book... for example
{SPOILERS AHEAD}
When Sam just magically appears in Ian's shower....fully clothed... and they have an argument. Like most romances it would be one or the other, anger or lust but since it's told from Ian's perspective, he seemed to be focused on neither emotion fully because the author was too busy with Ian's internal monologue and how well he knows her. The whole scene felt quite awkward and like we would have been better off without it.
the other bit was Sam storming out with the dinner plates... it was so absurd (and not in an enjoyable way) that it bordered on vaudeville humour. Also...it's unclear and still bugs me to not know if Ian took the dishes as well...???
Absolutely LOVED this book!! Friends to lovers is one of my very favorite tropes, and RS Grey really hit this one out of the park! Not So Nice Guy is actually my first read by this author, but I know for sure it won't be my last!!
This was the perfect sweet and sexy rom com that I was looking for and had me laughing and smiling throughout! The build-up and push and pull between Ian and Sam was so delicious and I'm afraid that Ian may have ruined me for other book boyfriends! Ian was freaking AMAZING! (Yes, he deserves all those caps!) Nothing makes my heart happier than a hero who is all in from the start. Ian never wavers and is so adorkably sweet, considerate, and loving that I thought my ovaries were going to explode. I know some readers love the bad boy or the alpha a-hole (hell, I do too sometimes!), but nothing ever beats the all around good guy in my heart. Sam was such a fun heroine too! I loved all her quirks and crazy inner monologue. Some of her reactions to people or situations (the chocolate pudding cup!!) had me laughing out loud! Ian and Sam were such a great couple and though I was frustrated by Sam at times, I absolutely loved these two together.
Such a wonderful feel good book from start to finish. You definitely don't want to miss this one!
I liked this one a lot. I’m giving it 4 out of 5 stars. This review is for an ARC, and reflects my honest opinion.
I absolutely adored Ian, and Sam. Their friendship was seriously goals! I wish I had a friend like that. Ian was described as a Clark Kent look alike, and I’m here for it 100%. He’s going on my book boyfriend list, especially since he was such a sweetheart, nice, funny, and sexy as heck.
I found myself laughing quite a bit while reading this one, so major props for that. Books that can make me laugh are always amazing! One thing that made me not give this 5 stars was the pacing. It just felt off to me. Without spoiling anything, I’ll just say it was slow burn, and then there was a “twist” that came out of like nowhere that threw me off. And also, I get that they’re best friends, but their relationship went from 0 to 60 in no time. That being said, there were definitely some steamy parts in this book, and I was a-okay with that. Not So Nice Ian for the win!
None of the secondary characters really stood out for me besides Ian’s parents (they seemed awesome), and also the Principal…in particular what Sam thought about him during the presentation her and Ian gave. I loved seeing both POVs; I just wished we got a little more insight from Ian. The epilogue was super cute, and I couldn’t stop smiling over this pairing. If you want a funny, sweet, slow burn romance, definitely check this one out!
