I assume you have read the general description of the storyline. This book took off with the first sentence. It's a clean, Christian romantic suspense. And it delivers. The Christian thread is a little stronger in this one than it was in the first book of the series. I still didn't feel preached at. The romance had more '... sigh' than the first book also. There's plenty of danger and suspense. You get to reconnect with several characters from the first book but this one would also work as a stand alone. It is complete without hooks or cliffhangers and had a satisfying ending. The writing style flows at times like poetry, with beautiful descriptions, and yet never becomes overly descriptive or bogged down. I like that the character's physical descriptions are clear. I don't like the trend of ambiguous characters with no physical parameters. I also appreciate that this author writes books that are well researched and logistically sound. I did notice an error in the wound care procedure of a through bullet wound, but that certainly didn't harm the realistic integrity of the story. There were also a few editing problems, mostly in the first portion of the book. This is an author that without question earns her stars. Her skill is up there with the best in this genre. This book is going into my reread collection and I have already purchased the next I the series. I highly recommend this book.Tags : An Eye for an Eye (Heroes of Quantico Series, Book 2) (Volume 2) [Irene Hannon] on Amazon.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. An Eye for an Eye Heroes of Quantico Series Book 2 Volume 2 Irene Hannon 9780800733117 Books Reviews
After reading the first book in the series, I immediately bought this, the second book. Normally I don't consider myself an avid reader, but I couldn't put the first book down and then I couldn't put this book down either. So I immediately bought the third book in the series. WOW!
My brother is a big reader but is in a undisclosed location without books, he requested more then anything I send him books. He has yet to complain about any book I've sent so I am guessing they are all really good, but I am sorry to say I cannot comment on plot as I havent read it
Book two was just as thrilling as book one. Forgiveness, loss of loved ones, depression are things we all have to deal with at sometime in our lives. How we deal with them is very different if our relationship with God is not close. Emily, Mark, and the father of a teen who calls into a radio program are at all different stages in their lives. The romance and attempted murder investigation keep you turning the pages wanting more. Book two was as hard to put down as book one. NOW ONTO BOOK THREE!
I liked this book, but not as much as the first book. In the first book, I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next, and I really cared about what happened to Coop and Monica. I saw and understood as those two were falling in love and, I felt that I was coming along for the journey. With this book, however, so much of the love story took place when they were kids. I never felt the connection between Mark and Emily that I felt between Coop and Monica.
Agent Mark Sanders has the opportunity of a life time - a chance to revisit a love experienced at age 17 in Tennessee's Wren Lake over a magical summer break. Emily and Mark have moved on in their lives for two decades but circumstances bring them together in St. Louis while jogging in a park. Shots are fired and sparks appear with the reunion. And their lives are forever changed. For "love changes everything"...
Long lost childhood friends meet in the most unlikely place. FBI Agent Mark Sander's was out running on the morning of his chance encounter with a teenage friend Emily Lawson. Mark was recovering in the St. Louis office of the FBI from a gun shot wound to his leg which he received when encountering a hostage situation in a quick mart. The angry hate mail he and the department had received after the event had caused his boss to suggest a change of duty while he recovered. Mark had been cleared of any wrong doing after the investigation, but he still wondered if anything could have been done differently. Emily was out walking on the same morning and as they got closer, Mark realized that he knew who she was. The events from this chance meeting draw the two past teenage friends together.
When I was a youngster, my family went to the library once a week to pick up a couple of books each and we would share bits about our books in conversations and why we chose them. Somehow in my young adult life, I guess I got too busy for my wonderful books. A few years back, I purchased a and some books, but it was not until I started reading An Eye For An Eye by Irene Hannon, that I truly felt my passion for reading come back as strong as ever. Before I finished this book, I bought the other two in the Quantico series and I put my chore list aside as I totally immersed myself in each of these amazing stories. Good thing I had plenty of treats in the pantry for my Poo (Poodle) and food in the freezer, so no need to run errands.
An Eye For An Eye is a totally believable story with characters who are so real that I felt as if they were still in my life even after I finished the book. The suspense had me turning the pages and to say that I was intrigued by the efforts of the FBI agents is putting it lightly. I loved the way the romance built as the relationship grew. I hated for the book to end, but was glad I had the other two books from the series ready to go and I jumped right in.
By the way, before I finished the Quantico Series, I purchased another of Ms Hannon's trilogies. Since then, I have read 4-5 books per week from a variety of writers, but mostly with some form of suspense. Several of the authors I learned of through reading Ms Hannon's books.
Ms Irene Hannon, thank you for bringing me back to the joy of reading!
